S.O.S.

I can't figure out bloglines. I can't for the life of me figure out how to add the blogs I'm following. Any advice on how to do this?

And while we're at it, I can't figure out where to put the code for the cool backgrounds. I know you go to "edit templates" but then I have no idea WHERE in that big box of googlygoop that you paste in the new codes.

This is why I majored in journalism/advertising and not computers. Or math. Bah!

I am not the one to ask...I have a notebook next to my computer and use my "history" from google to check blogs! That is so bad!

I'm not sure what the problem is with following blogs. But I might be able to help with the backgrounds. Where are you getting your backgrounds from? cutest blog on the block is a great place to go. feel free to e-mail me ldkirkpatrick@gmail.com and let me know where you are getting your templates from and then I might be able to help.

Your blog lines are on your dashboard page... There should be a button that says ADD. Or if you are one someome's blog, and they have the following thing on their side bar, just click "follow this blog" and it will take you through the steps. It will then show up on your dashboard... does that help??

After you log into bloglines, look at the top left hand corner. Click on "ADD" and then type or paste the address in on the right side. THen you will have to click on the blog name once it brings it up and scroll all the way down and hit "subscribe".

Ok, I don't know much about bloglines, but if you have a google account, you can use google reader and that's cool. Of course, I added a lot of blogs to my google reader, but never read my google reader. It's still cool nevertheless though...

And what was your other question? Oh, other cool backgrounds and templates. I "think" you can use the edit html and put that garb there. "think" being the opportune word here. I haven't done it in a while, so have forgotten.

And if you want to put other stuffs like links to other blogs and all that garb under your about me section, just go to Page Elements, add a gadget, name it, and plug in the urls.

Clear as mud? Okie dokie. HTH or doesn't confuse you further at least. LOL

Hi! I hope I can help answer your question about where to put the code for a cool background. :) Hope this helps!

So highlight the code you want for your blog. I too recommend Cutest Blog on the Block. Search under Free Backgrounds for hundreds of different options. Once you find the code, highlight it, and copy it. (You know, the whole right click thing.)

In your Blogger account, go to Layout.Make sure you are on Page Elements. Click on "Add A Gadget". Scroll down to HTML/JavaScript. Click on it. In the pop up box paste your code where it says Content. Don't write anything in the Title box because it will show up on your blog. Make sure to hit save. Also make sure to hit save on your Page Elements page. There you go!

This is also where you can add people's little tags to their blog and pix and stuff. Didn't notice if you had them. Hope this helps. Haha, hopefully this is what you were even talking about!! Great blog! I'll definatly be back!

For bloglines.....go to "favorites" on your toolbar.

Click on "sub with bloglines".

Click on one of the "readers" and then go to the bottom and "subscribe".

I also save ALL of the blogs I read to "bookmarks". Even when my computer crashed and I had to buy a new one, all my blogs were still there.

I see several people have mentioned cutest blog on the block. I have tried other background programs, but THEIRS was super easy peasy.
