Good week for bargains

Garage sales really stunk this weekend, but I stopped by one of my favorite thrift stores and was so excited to find some vintage Pyrex! I have my late grandmother's Pyrex mixing bowls, and I use them all of the time. Those are a set of solid color bowls, each bowl being a different color. I love Pyrex. It's so sturdy and never goes out of style. I love all of the vintage patterns. A few years back I added to the set. Antique stores around here price them pretty high. I was excited to find these two finds:

Butterprint mixing bowl $2

And a Golden Tulip casserole dish for $1.50.

It still had the price sticker on it from an antique store.

While at that same store, I also found this hideous gold mirror. It was $4. More than I'd normally pay for a tiny thrift store mirror, but I liked the shape and saw the potential, so I got it. I painted it, and it's out back drying.

I also ran by Hobby Lobby to pick up some supplies for another project, and saw these cute items in the 66% off aisle. A metal "Old Glory" sign, some glittered metal flag plant stakes and a wooden flag. I think they cost about $8 total. Now the only problem is remembering next year that I have them. ha!! I always do that...buy something at the end of season on sale, pack it away and then forget that I have it. Oh well.

Very cute finds! Love the 4th of July stuff ... and I love old Pyrex. It's such a good feeling to find stuff that should be in an antique store at a thrift store! Have a great week!

Old Pyrex, it's the best. I was just telling my mom how much her old Pyrex is worth now. She can't believe it.

I wish I could find some old Pyrex. My mother sold all of hers a yard sale a while back!

Great finds. I have a couple pieces of that old pyrex in my cabinet, that I got as gifts in the 60's.

I love Pyrex too and those bowls are great! I know what you mean about buying things, packing them away, then forgetting that you bought it! I do that all the time, but when I remember where I put it away, it's such a surprise to find it!

Great finds! I also hit up Hob Lob's 66% off aisle and got a USA sign. I love your Old Glory one! I didn't see that one.

Great prices on the Pyrex. I use an old set of jadite Fire-King mixing bowls from my mom on a daily basis. Not sure what I'd do if I broke one because they're just a little too pricey to replace. Old Pyrex is awesome too!

I love the butterprint Pyrex mixing bowl. I saw a bunch of pieces with that design at a flea market this weekend that I would have liked to take home, but the price was too steep for my thrifty purse!

I hope you plan to post pics of the finished mirror! And I love Hobby Lobby, but we don't have them in New York. Grrr....I'll just have to stock up when I visit family down south.

Oh, I absolutely LOVE that white/aqua pattern! I got a set of those for my birthday last year, and I so much enjoy them! You definitely scored a great find, and the other one is also cute! I can't wait to see how your mirror comes out~ I don't think four dollars is too much at all if the design/detail is that pretty! And the Americana decor is wonderful! I do that too~ buy things for the next year, pack them away and forget about them! I heard another blogger say that she has a little table with a patriotic theme that she keeps from July fourth to Labor Day, and I am going to do this next year! :)

I hope you are having a good summer so far! :)
