Chalkboard paint project (thrift store rehab)

I scrambled to get my project done for Chrissie's Chalkboard Paint Party. And I do mean scrambled. Our weather has been really ugly lately, so I haven't been able to get outside to paint.

I had found this really blah plaque at the Goodwill.

It was simply a matter of peeling off the paper that was glued to the front, sanding off all the sticky residue and painting.

Eh, I'm not too thrilled with how it turned out. It looked much better in my mind's eye. That seems to happen a lot! I'll probably rehab this rehab eventually.

If you want to join the party, visit Chrissie's blog and see what cute projects all of these other creative gals have come up with. Mine really pales in comparison. I just don't have the knack for this one. But I had fun!

It's cute! It reminds me of a lot of the chalkboards you see in French or Tuscany-themed kitchens.

I like how you turned that plaque into a chalkboard. Have you seen the really awesome chalk markers yet. They come in beautiful colors. They are permanent until you wash with water. In other words, they don't rub off, but will wash off.

I laughed out loud at your comment about trying to make a Teesha Moore doll. However, then I scrolled down to see all those AMAZING collages you have made in the past and am VERY Impressed!!!
And thanks for showing us your craft room. 99% of us have craft rooms that look exactly the same. That's the mark of a true crafter. : )

Oh I think it's really cute! You did a great job on it, and I LOVE the sweet green ribbon you hung it from! Maybe it will grow on you, but if not, I could just give you my address...hehe! :) (That was a joke, I promise!) But anyway, I hope you are having a good week! :) Take care!

It's nice! The green ribbon looks good with it. You can always change it or add to it if you're still not happy with it later, after you've had more time to think about it.

I think it turned out cute! Maybe you can hang it from a cool knob of some sort instead of a nail to dress it up!

I think it turned out so cute! I love remaking things from Goodwill...gives me such a sense of "cheating" the expensive stores! :)

I like your rehab:) But I do understand the feeling of wanting to rehab your own rehab. It happens to me all the time;) I think I'll head to Goodwill this afternoon and see what I can find. It's been waaayyy too long. I haven't had a project in months!!
