Signs of spring

The temperature was 85 degrees today! So beautiful! Trees and flowers are beginning to sprout. Everything looks like it's waking up from a long winter.

Iris bulbs are starting to peak out. I just planted these 1-1/2 weeks ago! These bulbs were left over from the 100+ I planted in a flower bed outside the bay window. Unfortunately, those aren't sprouting yet.

My mums in a planter on the front porch from last fall never completely died, and now they are coming back in full force! Which is amazing, because they are annuals, not perennials.

The birdbath out front has been cleaned and filled, ready for new occupants.

Daffodils have been blooming for the last week. They don't last long here in our part of the state...maybe a week or two at the most.

I made another "flower bed sparkly" (glass totem) a few weeks ago.

Yesterday I made a glass bird bath. I had several small colored glass chunks that I put in the bowl since it's so deep. This way, the birds will have something to stand on. And, they really sparkle in the sun.

In the next week or two, I can start planting tomatoes.

Is spring making an appearance for you?

Those are just beautiful! My sister and I made some a few years ago. I think we got more glue on our fingers than on the project. I love how you added color to yours... Beautiful. I know if I was a bird...I would head straight to your house!

You are so talented! Your glass bird bath is amazing! I am jealous of your spring; ours comes a little slower here...if I see one more snowflake...I can't believe it's 85 degrees where you are! :) Your garden is looking so pretty; love the daffodils!

Spring has come and gone, come and gone here. It will be back, later this week! 70 degrees one week, 40 the next. But it's been great, there are pear trees blooming all over the place here. They are gorgeous!

So pretty! My tulips and hyacinths are blooming. I need to take photos. I'll do it after I re-mulch the beds. ;)

Can't wait to plant my tomatoes in about a month. Love your flower bed sparkly, they are so pretty. How is the job search going?

I wouldn't say spring has arrived here in NYC yet, but it's teasing us...definitely.
Today it's a little rainy and overcast, but the rest of the week was beautiful!
I LOVE your glass bird bath! I don't think I've ever seen one like that, but I think it's the coolest one I've ever seen.
If I had a yard I'd want one. ;)
Great work! This post makes me really excited about Spring approaching. Yay!

Loved your Lost comments on Rocks in my Dryer! I'm feeling the exact same way about Rose and Bernard just disappearing... if they aren't going to be in this season, then fine, but please please, the characters need to recognize that they're gone. Really frustrating to me.

Looking forward to clicking around your blog! :)

We had the nice weather, too, and then the temps dropped again yesterday so I'm bummed again.
Hope you have a fantastic weekend ahead~ Les

Beautiful! There aren't that many signs of spring around here yet (a few flowers, but you have to find them among the remaining piles of snow) so I really enjoyed your post.
